I can only conclude that this company is criminally minded in their attempt to monetize. Do not be fooled by their frequent emails offering their bundled products as I was. I foolishly ordered their object desktop. their description of the offer stated “Access updates and betas for included software for one year.” the price was not cheap but absurdly I thought a company that made Fences can’t be that bad. So I said I’ll give that offer a go because if the stuff was usefull then the fact I couldn’t get updates after a year was no big deal, as most updates actually introduce more errors anyway rather than fixes unless the fix is for a problem you are experiencing. However it turned out that after a year they expire the whole key, not only will you not get updates but nothing will then work, which is a real low level scummy thing to do. Contacting them illicited no response and the year delay to expiry works to their advantage as your payment method recourses have also expired, so as I said this is a criminal corporation that have carefully structured their operation to defraud their customers; after all a lot of suckers are born everyday. If I was in their country I would take them to court or seek other methods of satisfaction. a most vile collection of people. Though Stardock IconDeveloper, I have designed my own icons that I convert from jpeg to “.ico” since they are the only images that can be used on PCs.
I recommend that, before organising your desktop, you right-click on a blank part of the Desktop and change the icon size under “View” to “Large Icons”. The icons look far clearer and so many people comment on how rganised my desktop shortcuts are. In “Large Icons” you can definitely see the pictures clearly and read the words in the icon design. More so in “Extra Large” View, but then you have less room on your desktop with fewer icons.
You DON’T need to use Adobe to make your “.ico” icon images. You can use the Microsoft software, that you already have, to design your own icons, followed by using Stardock “IconDeveloper” to convert your jpeg designs to an “.ico” file. This is why you need Stardock “IconDeveloper”.
STEP 1: Make an “Icon Designs” Folder and
Click on “Pin to Quick Access”,
so your icon design folder appears down the
left-hand side, in the Quick Access Column.

to a square, since all desktop icons
are squares. This is done by clicking
on “Design” and then “Slide Size”.
STEP 3: Once you have designed your icon
with pics & text, use
Microsoft “Snipping Tool” to create a JPEG.
